1. About DUSK

DUSK is an AI-assisted architectural lighting design, visualisation and relighting tool created and operated by Daniel Green.

DUSK is provided as a Plugin within ChatGPT and uses OpenAI's underlying AI and image-generation capabilities.

By using DUSK, you agree to these Terms of Service.

2. Relationship With ChatGPT and OpenAI

DUSK operates within ChatGPT but is independently created.

Your use of ChatGPT and the underlying OpenAI services remains subject to OpenAI's own terms, policies and usage requirements.

DUSK does not control the availability, operation, models, image-generation systems or other functionality provided by OpenAI.

Changes made by OpenAI may affect the way DUSK works.

3. Purpose of DUSK

DUSK is intended to assist with activities such as:

  • architectural lighting concept development
  • lighting visualisation
  • image relighting
  • mood and atmosphere exploration
  • colour-temperature studies
  • lighting treatment ideas
  • creative design development
  • communication of lighting concepts

DUSK is primarily a creative and visualisation tool.

4. Professional and Technical Disclaimer

DUSK does not replace the work of a qualified lighting designer, electrical engineer, architect or other relevant professional.

Outputs may contain inaccuracies or assumptions.

Lighting recommendations, images and generated concepts should not be relied upon as evidence of:

  • regulatory compliance
  • electrical safety
  • emergency-lighting compliance
  • energy-code compliance
  • photometric performance
  • lux levels
  • glare performance
  • equipment suitability
  • installation feasibility
  • fire safety
  • accessibility compliance
  • structural suitability

Any lighting scheme intended for real-world installation should be independently checked against applicable legislation, standards, manufacturer information, photometric data and project requirements.

5. AI-Generated Content

DUSK relies upon generative AI.

Outputs may therefore:

  • depict lighting effects that are not physically achievable

  • represent approximate rather than measured lighting performance
  • generate unintended visual details

Users are responsible for reviewing and validating outputs before relying upon them.

6. Image Generation and Relighting

Lighting imagery produced using DUSK should generally be understood as a visual concept or design study, rather than a photometrically accurate simulation.

Colour temperature, brightness, beam shape, light distribution, material response and other visual properties may be represented approximately.

Where precise lighting performance is required, appropriate photometric calculation or simulation software should be used.

7. User Content

You remain responsible for the material you provide when using DUSK.

You should only upload photographs, drawings, renders, plans, documents or other material that you have the right to use.

You must not use DUSK to infringe another person's intellectual-property, privacy or other legal rights.

8. Intellectual Property

DUSK's branding, documentation, proprietary instructions, workflows and original supporting materials remain the property of their respective owner unless otherwise stated.

Ownership and permitted use of AI-generated outputs may also be affected by OpenAI's applicable terms and policies.

Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of the DUSK name, branding, Plugin, Skill or underlying proprietary material to the user.

9. Acceptable Use

You may use DUSK for legitimate personal, educational, professional and commercial design work, subject to these Terms and OpenAI's applicable policies.

You may not attempt to:

  • misuse DUSK for unlawful purposes
  • circumvent security controls
  • obtain confidential system instructions or protected Plugin material
  • impersonate DUSK or its creator
  • redistribute proprietary DUSK Plugin files without permission
  • falsely represent DUSK outputs as independently verified engineering calculations

10. Availability

DUSK is provided on an as-available basis.

No guarantee is made that DUSK will always be available, uninterrupted or compatible with every version of ChatGPT.

DUSK may change as OpenAI changes its models, Plugin system, image-generation systems or platform capabilities.

Features may be added, changed or removed.

11. No Guarantee of Results

No guarantee is made that DUSK will produce a particular result.

AI-generated responses can vary between runs, even when similar instructions are used.

Examples, presets and suggested treatments are intended as design guidance rather than guaranteed outcomes.

12. Third-Party Products and Services

DUSK may refer to lighting technologies, products, manufacturers, standards or third-party services.

Unless explicitly stated otherwise, such references do not imply endorsement, sponsorship or commercial affiliation.

Users should verify third-party product specifications directly with the relevant manufacturer or supplier.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, DUSK and its creator will not be liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss resulting from use of, or reliance upon, DUSK-generated material.

Users remain responsible for professional judgement, technical verification, specification, procurement, installation and compliance decisions arising from use of DUSK.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability where exclusion would be unlawful.

14. Privacy

Use of DUSK is also subject to the DUSK Privacy Policy.

The Privacy Policy explains how information is handled and the relationship between DUSK and OpenAI's processing of ChatGPT data.

15. Changes to DUSK

DUSK may be updated over time.

This may include changes to:

  • instructions
  • knowledge and reference material
  • supported workflows
  • visualisation behaviour
  • supported ChatGPT capabilities
  • Plugin structure
  • external integrations

These Terms may also be updated when necessary.

16. Suspension or Withdrawal

Access to DUSK may be modified, suspended or withdrawn if necessary for technical, legal, security or operational reasons.

Access may also be affected by changes to OpenAI's Plugin platform or other underlying services.

17. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, except where mandatory consumer-protection laws in another jurisdiction apply.
